About the role 

As a Backend Engineer at SOURCIX, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and technological backbone of a platform that’s set to redefine the procurement industry. You’ll be responsible for crafting innovative, scalable, and robust solutions that enable companies to streamline their procurement operations, enhance decision-making, and unlock unprecedented value.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement backend systems that handle large-scale, real-time data processing.
  • Develop microservices and APIs that are both secure and scalable, ensuring seamless integration with front-end applications and third-party systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and data scientists, to bring new features to life.
  • Optimize system performance and ensure high reliability and availability.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, from code reviews to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with cutting-edge tools and technologies, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud infrastructure (GCP), and modern databases (NoSQL).

Your Skills and Expertise:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in JavaScript/TypeScript development – Required
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing web services and microservices architecture – Required
  • Strong understanding of the web development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment – Required
  • Expertise in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code – Required
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration – Required
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies and infrastructure – Preferred
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies – Preferred
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases and query languages – Preferred
  • Experience with React.js and frontend/backend collaboration – Preferred
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
